It is summer in the Dominican Republic, and AHCC is gearing up for several weeks of Vacation Bible School with our children. Unlike what happens in the US, here in the Dominican, we start our Bible school in July and run it through the second week of September. VBC is a more relaxed training time with the inclusion of fun activities such as arts and crafts, dramatic play, songs and music, character building, puppet shows, team lessons, sports activities, skits, and games. AHCC children also get to enjoy special foods that are not normally offered at the Center during the rest of the year, such as sandwiches, salads, hotdogs, hamburgers
Toward the end of the Bible school semester, the children become evangelists and go out into the community to share the Gospel with villagers.
Children who attend VBS at AHCC range in age from pre-school to high school. In some cases, the high school students help supervise and teach the younger children.
VBS is always a special event that our children look forward to all year.
